Parishes 'Wildlife Day' this Saturday

Recent planning pressures in this area has highlighted the very real need to document the wildlife that is present in our Parishes.

This Saturday March 11th - keep your eyes peeled for wildlife in our Parish and report any sightings to Jill: jillsutcliffe1@gmail.com or 01403 700395 or Mike: mnking23@gmail.com or 07949 909351

Three weeks ago there were the following sightings;

  1. A Grey wagtail scrabbling about on the edge of the iced up pond which, unlike their relative the Pied Wagtail, are grey above and warm yellow below
  2. A Blackcap singing in the willow; a bird which used to migrate away from the English winter but now stays here.
  3. A Red Kite flying overhead.

Apologies for unlikely animals in the picture!
