'Our small Parish Councils of Plaistow & Ifold and Kirdford, and our Campaign Group PORE have spent 2 years fighting a battle against what has now been described by an Anaerobic Digestion expert as;
(WITHOUT PLANNING PERMISSION) ONE OF THE LARGEST BIOGAS TO BIOMETHANE GAS REFINERIES IN EUROPE IS BUILT IN PLAISTOW
THE PLANT IS SIGNIFICANT ON A 'CONTINENTAL' SCALE.
THE PLANNING PERMISSION PROCESS HAS BEEN TREATED WITH CONTEMPT
FACTS; an industrial sized biogas plant was built WITHOUT required planning permission over the past few years; now had planning permission REFUSED and 2 ENFORCEMENT notices served; they have now lodged 4 appeals which our tiny village is fighting. They have shown blatant disregard for planning , transport and environmental regulations and a brazen confidence in the face of constant refusals and investigations.
ISSUE; They continue to receive huge annual RHI subsidies via OFGEM, despite having had planning permission refused and the cleaning and export of biogas from Crouchland biogas deemed unlawful by West Sussex County Council. The taxpayer should not be subsidising this behavior. DECC allowing OFGEM to continue to pay an unlawful operation is not only fiscally questionable, but it is sending a terrible message to every law abiding taxpayer.
IINTERESTING POINT; Major share-holder and Director of Crouchland Biogas is Angus Cameron whose first cousin is David Cameron’s late father. Other share-holders, Andrew and Gabrielle Cameron, also related to the PM.
HELP NEEDED! Our small Parishes have already raised £50,000 for legal representation at the upcoming appeals, but we continue our fund-raising efforts.
Please could you take a quick look at this internet auction we have just set up – and see if you could either donate an item/service – or make a bid!
Many thanks – and I fully expect and understand that 90% of you will press the delete button, but maybe 1% could help this cause.'
