Crouchlands Biogas are trying to pump out the polluting material from the stream by Springfield Farm (1.5 kms downstream) and return it to their lagoons. By midday today approximately 22,000 gallons of the polluted stream had been removed. It is expected that this process will take a multitude of days, overseen by the EA.
The ammonia levels have been 'off the scale'.
There is great concern for the clear up operation after Springfield Farm which is less accessible.
